The Phesta vision is a world in which people, from whatever religion, sexual orientation, ethnic origin or gender have equal access to good quality health care services that will help them to realise their full potential.
Phesta's mission is to provide good quality support, guidance and advice to translate complex public health issues into a viable strategy and ensuing action.

- Competence: providing competent performance to stakeholders; specifically, not accepting assignments which are beyond my competency, or for which I cannot mobilize the requisite expertise.
- Integrity/Honesty: displaying honesty and integrity in my own behavior, and attempting to ensure the honesty and integrity of the entire consultancy process.
- Medical Ethics and Respect for People: respecting and fostering medical ethics when dealing with patients; respecting the security, dignity and self-worth of respondents, program participants, clients, patients (including those living with HIV and/or tuberculosis) and other stakeholders; where applicable, obtaining the informed consent of participants to ensure that they can decide in a conscious, deliberate way whether they want to participate.
- Cultural and gender sensitivity; being conscious of norms and values of the culture in which the assignment takes place; being aware of the role of women and power and other inbalances that might occur because of gender.
- Participatory approach; work with all relevant stakeholders and involve them in the consultancy process.
